Meet at 6:15 p.m. at the Centre Culturel René Char

Share a mountain evening: are you sure you know the names of the mountains around you? Challenge yourself to a quiz on the theme of the Geopark’s peaks and have a great time (15min).

The game will be followed by a film screening of Rémy Tezier’s “Au-delà des cimes” (80 min).

Au-delà des cimes tells the story of Catherine Destivelle’s passion for the mountains.

The set-up is simple: Catherine takes a few of her friends and family to conquer the legendary peaks of the Mont Blanc massif: Pauline, her former pupil, with whom she climbs the very difficult East Face of the Grand Capucin; Claire, her younger sister, with whom she reaches the very slender summit of the Aiguille du Grépon; and her friends Lothar and Gaby, who rediscover the breathtaking splendor of the Alps from the summit of the Aiguille Verte, after an impressive glacial ascent.

After this presentation, you’ll travel into the world of Flora Berger, who will tell you stories about the mountains and their geology, based on her book “Rêve de Pierre”.

Finally, you can observe some of the Geopark’s rocks and fossils, accompanied by a geologist mediator who will answer your questions and explain how they were formed and where they live…
