Water and biodiversity

From the ramparts of Saint Benoît, students learn to differentiate between the reliefs and rocks that structure the landscape. Using manipulatives, they test the behavior of water on these rocks and discover its erosive and transport action. As for the water that seeps through, the Saint-Benoît spring provides an insight into its underground journey and notions of potability. An individual booklet is provided for recording diagrams and observations as you go along. Water is also an important living environment, as shown by the small invertebrates observed with a magnifying glass. There’s very little missing from the final water cycle, which the children complete before setting off again.
