A Trail-Running Weekend!

The Tourist Office offers an original getaway-break. For a weekend, you can experience the perfect balance between an active sporting activity and relaxation, as well as discovering the local heritage and history. In a magnificent mountain landscape, you can fill up on fresh air and renewed vitality at the same time. You can also enjoy the many relaxing moments offered by the town of Digne les Bains, the historical birthplace of the UNESCO Geopark. Un week-end trail au coeur de l'UNESCO Géoparc de Haute-Provence

Day 1 - Discovery Day

You will be welcomed in the morning at the Tourist Office where you will be given a Trail-Run Guide of the surrounding areas. Depending on your level of fitness and trail-running experience you can choose between :

  • Discovery Level
    Loop No.1 Les Trois Chapelles (a distance of 6.6km with a positive elevation of 309m) OR Loop No.2: Caguerenard, le Darau, Martinon (a distance of 16.3km with a positive elevation of 1,079m)
  • Advanced Level
    Loop No.3: Sommet du Cousson, Martinon, le Darau (a distance of 32.4km with a positive elevation of 2,138m)

In the afternoon you can recover and relax at the Digne les Bains Thermal Baths with a warm jet-massaging bath + 30 minutes of relaxing sport-massages (back, legs, feet) adapted to aid recovery following sporting activities.

Day 2 - Horizon Day

Morning : VKM (Vertical Kilometre) Skyrunning, always according to your fitness level and experience:

  • Discovery Level: VKM Le Cousson: No.12 (a distance of 5.5km with a positive elevation of 897m)
  • Advanced Level: VKM (Vertical Kilometre) Skyrunning Race: No.13 (a distance of 1.1km with a positive elevationof 229m)

In the afternoon, you can visit the Promenade Museum, or if you'd rather more physical exercise than culture, you can choose to do the Via Ferrata (a rock-climbing-track) in Digne-les-Bains (on your own or accompanied). Recovery at the end of the afternoon with a light session in a fitness gym, steam-room and sauna at the aquatic-complex Les Eaux Chaudes.
