Linking downtown Digne-les-Bains to the Promenade Museum, before continuing along the Platrière trail to the ammonite slab, the Caguerenard trail offers lovely views of Digne-les-Bains, the Bléone and surrounding mountains. Particularly popular with the locals for family outings, this 5 km, 1.5-hour trail was used by over 20,000 people in 2021.

Since last autumn, it has undergone major improvements, including:

  • Rehabilitation and restoration of the path to prevent and compensate for soil erosion;
  • Securing the cliffs;
  • Installation of interpretation equipment and rest furniture.

The aim is to provide a well-developed pedestrian link between these three landmark sites, accessible to all, with signposts and information points highlighting the area’s rich biodiversity and landscapes. The renovation also includes the creation of landscape-reading tables, offering privileged views over the town of Digne-les-Bains and the surrounding peaks. Created in steel, the trail’s signage adorns the various interpretation points.
