Linking downtown Digne-les-Bains to the Promenade Museum and the Barles road, the new Arches bridge was opened to traffic on Monday December 16, 2024.
This new steel structure, 140 metres long and 12.5 metres wide, with a 700-tonne deck, replaces the old bridge built in 1894. Its advanced state of corrosion, structural problems and insufficient width decided in favor of the new bridge.
A dedicated path separated by a low wall ensures the safety and accessibility of walkers in the extension of the soft link with the ammonite slab.
Cyclists can also take advantage of the greenway to get around.
