The AIDE association organizes events to raise awareness of environmental protection among the local population, visitors and tourists alike.
Initially set up in response to the gypsum quarry project in Bayons, the Association Intercommunale de Défense de l’Environnement is now positioning itself in the Hautes Terres area around the Massif des Monges both as a body for alerting and combating flagrant environmental damage, and as a tool for raising awareness among the general public.
“Knowing, protecting, promoting and transmitting our NATURE” are the association’s key ideas, and it regularly organizes themed outings and hikes to discover the region’s rich biodiversity.
