Halfway between a museum, a theme park and an educational farm, the Maison du Mulet is a fun and original way to discover mules and their place in the history of the Pays de Seyne.
Mules, donkeys and mares graze on the site, which also features a mini-farm and playground. The rural heritage buildings are typical of a traditional mountain farm (bread oven, cellars, calade, etc.). You’ll discover the history of the mule, with a permanent exhibition that bears witness to the importance of this breed; a short film tells the story of local breeders who played a part in the end of this epic story.
You can then visit the temporary exhibition “Animals at night”. In an original setting, you’ll discover some of the peculiarities of these discreet, noisy or surprising neighbors, who lead their lives when we’re asleep.
Throughout the summer, we organize immersion days on Thursdays in July and August (demonstrations, horse-drawn carriage rides, etc.). Off-peak visits available on request.
