Les Ruchers des Ames Fortes

About

This certified organic beekeeper has set up his hives in the hills above Digne-les-Bains. From Courbons, in the foothills of the Siron, he produces a mountain, lavender and spring honey.

The association of bees and lavender is a characteristic feature of Haute-Provence: the action of bees increases the yield of lavender oil and ensures its pollination. Lavender honey, which is highly fragrant and delicately flavored, as well as “all-flower” honey, benefit from this important presence of aromatic plants: lavender and lavandin, of course, but also thyme, rosemary, savory, hyssop… which are all valuable melliferous plants, flowering at different times of the year.
Richard Bonnet is a geopartner of the Haute-Provence Geopark; he will be happy to share with you his passion for bees and for his territory.
