From the ruined hamlet, the exceptional view over the Bléone valley and its belt of peaks gives an insight into the geological formation of the area.
The view embraces the entire Bléone valley and can be enjoyed after a pleasant walk. The view can be divided into four groups, corresponding to geological units. To the west, the Ventoux-Lure unit is composed of limestone and marl (Cretaceous). Then the Digne-Valensole basin extends from the Durance to Digne-les-Bains, with its hills of marl, sandstone and pudding. This terrain is overlapped to the east by the peaks of the Digne nappe (Cousson, Barre des Dourbes…), while a few peaks of the Valavoire unit (Géruen) can be seen in the background.
The Bléone itself has shaped the landscape: rising out of the Estrop massif, which can be seen in the distance, it unfurls its braided profile all the way to its confluence with the Durance (Malijai). People have settled on its banks, and villages and signs of agricultural activity can still be seen.
