As part of The Refuge d'Art Project, a land-art installation by Andy Goldsworthy on the Col de l'Escuichière mountain-pass was created in two stages, in 2004 and in 2010. Fascinated by the veins of white calcite in the black limestone that flanks the access track to La Bléone side of the mountain-pass, Andy Goldsworthy created two land-artworks from this natural raw material, endeavouring to desgin flowing white lines by methodically assemblying local stones.
