Sismic’Anim (Understanding and managing seismic risk)

5€/student
2h

Using the effects of an earthquake as a starting point, and through questioning, model manipulation and interpretation, pupils discover why? how? where? these sometimes destructive natural phenomena occur. Playing with global paleogeographies and millions of years, children gain a better understanding of the importance of plate tectonics in shaping the relative position and shape of continents and oceans, past and present. Yes, there was sea in Digne at the time of the dinosaurs and for millions of years … Once freed from the fear of the unknown and made aware of it, children will be more effective at managing risks before, during and after a possible event. It’s up to them to become prevention ambassadors in their schools and families!
